Like TSN mentioned, all hot streaks eventually come to an end. It's impossible to play at that kind of a pace forever. Van's Feb-March pace was fucking insane. 20-5-1!

Van's last 2 games felt a whole lot like our flames games of March. Just outta nowhere, everything fell apart. Nobody knows why.

    I'm not really surprised.

    1) As you said Rage, it's hard to keep that hot.
    2) They really don't have the best road record in the world
    3) Last night's game was back-to-back, AFTER travel.
    4) Taylor Pyatt's fiance's death

I expected more out of the Edmonton game, but I did not expect them to win last night's game.

I'm not really too worried - yet. So they've lost a few in a row. Next game against Calgary is their opportunity to settle down and bounce back - or at least play well.

If they don't get at least 3 points out of the next 3 games, I'll be concerned. Otherwise - every team hits speedbumps.

Same could be said about the Flames in March. Wouldn't get too cocky so quickly...

I've been voicing my displeasure with the Flames "March Madness" syndrome for some time...

It's just refreshing to see the Canucks nation fall silent... what goes up, must come down.

    A simple reality check.

    4) Taylor Pyatt's fiance's death

I expected more out of the Edmonton game, but I did not expect them to win last night's game.

Both teams running into some hiccups during this end stretch.

That travel was like a trip to Banff. Try flying to Dallas to play on the road then flying to Minnesota to play on the road against a team fighting for their playpoff lives. Then also have 4 of your main D-men out (Yes I know Vancouver knows this well) and short forwards due to cap reasons.

Maybe Pyatt's fiance's death did hit them harder then people might think. A sad thing that , RIP Carly.

I for one thought they would win the Colorado game. @Home with Lou backing them up and a team that has played very well against a team fighting more for the Tavares sweepstakes, short almost all their major stars, 4 D-men with 14 NHL games experience between them having lost 8 in a row and Budaj in net. I figured even a tired Canucks team could get the win.

Glad they didn't, looks like Tuesdays game really is going to have huge implications.

Like the guy said on TSN, there hasn't been closure yet with Pyatt's wife, the guy had to leave and now the chemistry is off. It's not like the beginning of the season where we had a tribute to LB and vowed to play well for him....anyways, what matters is the playoffs now and it wasn't so long ago that people were writing off our team, heack, we were pretty low in the standings for awhile, last year we completely fell apart and ended up 13 th place, can't remember....GOOD LUCK CANUCKS!!! RIP LB and Carly.

    Woot!

Honestly, if it were not for Lou it would not have been 4-1. Great game though - and much better effort in the 3rd.

I'm pretty sure that they fell apart based on a death in the canuck family.

I'll give a congrats to the canucks for clinching 1st place. I know its not official yet, but the odds of canucks losing in regulation and flames winning in regulation today is pretty fucking slim haha.

    congrats Canucks!
kinda a crappy way to clinch the division, the game hasn't been too exciting.. as though both teams are just happy to play out the season.
    still... Go Canucks Go!
it'll be interesting to see who we play in the first round!

The Blues can still take 6th with a win in Colorado tomorrow since they swept Columbus this season.
