If you think your 10k++ car is burning MORE fuel than it supoose to...maybe consider a new oxygen senser, thermostat, fuel filter etc...

thermostat? if that went, u would have worse problems that would tip u off right away rather than bad fuel economy

just replaced mine in the shitbox, havent gone through a tank of gas yet so can't tell the mileage difference but it sure idles better now, especially on startup.

chances are the coolant needs a flush, like jeff said, the thermo would fail or work. My 94 accord has shitty heat, has ever since I've owned it(5 years). Despite swapping thermo's and changing the coolant, it still sucks!

When you change it, buy the OEM part! I went through two aftermarket thermostats that didn't open at the right temperature before I bit the bullet and paid $45 for the OEM. Trust me, you don't want to swap thermostats more than once.Originally posted by ecstasy_civic

Anyways - I've noticed my heat doesn't get as hot as it used to, but it still is pretty warm. Since it's been stated that a thermo either works or doesn't, could it be the old coolant?
