Having used all 3 (Esso, Shell and Petro), from my experience it doesn't seem to make a difference. I usually buy from shell because there's one close to where I work, but other than that I have no particular brand loyalty.

I only get gas from Esso because they are the only one out of the big 3 that have 92o. Shell had some problems with their additives clogging up the fuel gauge sensors a while back. I don't know if they have rectified this problem yet.

I live in the SW and on 17th ave and 37st there is an Esso there that always has 3.5cents off the displayed price. Actually the best price I found is the Esso on 68St and California Blvd in the NE. They have the 3.5 cents off plus their premium is 1 cent less than anywhere else thus I only pay 4.5 cents less than anywhere else.

The guy there claims to have that discount if you use your Petro-points card, and I've had one for ages and never used it, too lazy to dig it out of the wallet.

Almost every gas station has the 3.5 cents off deal now. I usually fill up with 92 octane Esso gas. But I also use shell, petro and sometime husky/mohawk.

I read about that, but the additive only affected chysler/dodge cars.
