Just heard on the news, that tomorrow is their last chance to resolve the issue, and if they can't they will go on strike.

That sucks for the students because doesnt that mean they wont get to finish their semester, which means they're out a couple of thousand bucks (or how much ever tuition costs)??

well if they actually strike til the end of the semester, we'll just get the marks we already have. We just won't know the material to move ahead which is shitty.

Shitty deal. You guys will lose alot of work and probably won't finish your class if its for a long time. HOpe they don't go on strike! Ther would be too many pissed people lol.

yeah, those teachers are kinda being selfish if they strike half way through the semester, I wonder if they realize that if they do this, the schools reputation will drop, less people will attend thier school and they won't get paid as much as they do know, not to mention they are screwing thier students over, if I was a student there, I would petition against them striking.

Instead they decide to vote towards a strike and take all us poor students money for the semester and not finish it

That could have bought me my kit but now i might be screwed out of tuition and class and have to keep saving for that kit. Those bastards they better finish the semester or i smell like a million law suits from students for there money back me being one of them

Of course it would make sense to do it in the middle of the term, because it gets the student's bitching and whining towards the guys at the top, which is exactly the "support" the teachers want and need. You think it would make sense to do it while they weren't needed as badly in the spring/summer? What good is a strike if no one needs you?

I heard about that and it surprised me...... especially right in the middle of the semester.

There is a big protest at the U of C next week too. We are supposed to be doing our best against differential tuition but I dont think it is going to work. Either way you get screwed....

thats what they're banking. honestly, if u were mrc's board of governors (or whatever) and the teachers said they'd strike in july, would u really care?? i'd be like "wow, ur holding 500 students as leverage"

whereas, u can do it in the middle of winter session, when enrollment is at it's highest, and have 10 000 students hostage.
