An alarm is a fairly easy install in the new Civic.
Check with the dealer as to warranty issues first.
Yea, lets talk about that. Its not easy. There is a built in key chip/immobilizer you have to bypass, and of course the pretty complex wiring that honda decided to make even tighter and harder to get to for the 2006 year for control of your door locks and such. Id know, i own one, and have researched this extensively, and asked many questions at places such as autotemp and soundsaround. It wont be cheap.Originally posted by Strugari

I wouldnt worry about it, besides, everyone on this forum, especially civic and integra owners seems to be getting their cars stolen regardless. If an experienced guy wants your car, hes going to get it. No point in giving him a nice alarm in the process.
An alarm system does not need to bypass the immobilizer. Only a remote starter. The door lock wires and Factory alarm wires are easily accessed from behind the drivers side fuse/relay box.
I have installed a few starters and alarms on the new Civics and the price is the same as the 05 Civic.
Just my 2 cents.
