Online MBA's?

Hey again,

Recently my mom has been mentioning to me about the prospects of doing an Online MBA. She is about 15 years away from retirement, and with a Accounting Equivalancy Degree from England. She currently has a good paying job with the CRHA, but really wants to strive to get more, and do more. She feels that she is being held back with her degree. She has already looked at doing a CGA and that isn't an option.

She is looking at Online MBA's with a few UK Universities which are 2 year programs. She tells me that when she gets the MBA it is not shown as a "online" MBA, but just a regular degree.

I was looking at MBA's after I am done my degree (see my other thread haha) and I notice that the school its from is quite important.

Anyways any thoughts?

I would suggest Queen's executive MBA for her (they have a campus here in Calgary). The U of C Executive MBA isn't bad either (much cheaper than Queen's). The value of the MBA is not in the theory that is provided by the course material, but the discussion in class. Online MBAs and MBAs by correspondence are good for people who are doing it for a Master's degress and then moving on to a PHD. But if you are doing it for a career type reason, you are better to do an in class MBA.
