I got my gun today
Spyder Esprit.
Now for the mods
What should I start doing?
BTW...why the hell does it have a sight rail, if there's a hopper and an elbow directly infront of the place where the sight would go?

Well you wanna get all your safety equipment too but that's a whole other story.
Doesn't waste your bling on a laser sight, paintball guns are too way too inaccurate any ways. Get a clear hopper. So you can see how many rounds you have, and the hopper doesnt block your view entirely.
Yeah, I got all the safety equipment already. I just need to start learning about all the parts and shit. Should I buy an aftermarket barrel?

I dunno. I just found lots of advantages to a clear hopper, that's all I know. Wait until bol sees this thread, he'll school you in Paintball 101. Try looking for a paintballing forum and they'll probably be more than happy to fill you in with good infoOriginally posted by Glowrider

A new barrell will definatly help with accuracy. The Dye Xcel barrels are definatly the best bang for your buck.
You might want to look into getting a venturi bolt, which will help with accuracy and efficency as well. If you get a venturi bolt make sure you get a high flow valve as well.
you might want to get an extra set of springs for the marker until you dial it in to whatever max velocity your local fields allow. Find paintballs that you find work well with your barrel and stick with them. Velocity and accuary will vary greatly amoung paintballs because of the different sizes there available in.
oh and you might want to look into getting an expansion chamber since you're probably running co2.
Oh and dye sticky grips, can't forget those! best investment you can make.
LOL No. Just gives me something else to do on Sundays.are you strapping up for a terriost attack or something? hahaha everyone in cali is like selling their guns cuz its getting old..
Thanks for all the info, bol.

I was looking at the Dye Xcel barrels, and I have a couple questions.
12" or 14"?
What's the difference between the Spyder thread and the M98 thread?

definatly get a shorter barrel
accuary improves with the longer barrels but they're a pain to mvoe around with
and the threads are just that, spyder threads for guns that use spyder barrel thrads, M98 for the tippman model 98 etc

There's guys out there with guns on nitrous. Getting 350+ fps. I can't compete with that with my shitty Co2 gun man!

running compressed air has nothing to do with velocity
it's all about consistancy
CO2 expands at different rates given temperature, etc etc
with compressed air you don't have those problems.
you don't need to do anything specific to get your gun to run on compressed air, gas-thru-grip(no expansion chamber!), the tank and a regulator
These guys are on nitrous oxide, not normal compressed air.
