wanting to fight a traffic ticket failure to stop @ a stop sign

I recently got a traffic ticket failure to stop @ a stop sign, I was aware that my court date to appeal is in January sometime,
Today I happen to look @ the ticket and notice court appearance date written by the officer says January - 05 ...
It should have read 06, because the ticket was written wrong I have heard it may be thrown out.....
Is this true?

im pretty sure they cna "fix" the ticket because i was pulled over by an under cover cop from a diffrent county and he would still be able to give me the ticket the next day if my parents failed to call, oh and he only gave me a warning

well for one, if there is somthing wrong with the ticket, it gets revoked, and if the cop is a real ass then hell find you and slap you with another PROpperly written one, other than that, umm fight them, i had a 403.00 street racing ticket, and slashed it to 150.00 with 0 demerits rather than 4... i only have 8... hahah

What's wrong with you? If the guy didn't stop at the stop sign, he should be responsible for his actions and pay it. Quit sucking up the economy and raising my insurance. I wouldn't fight it if it was legit. It's a good lesson not to do it again.

Pretty sure he wasnt lazy, just made a simple human mistake, which everyone makes. I've written 05 on a bunch of my paper work at work, since i was so use to writing 05. Does that make me lazy? nope, just means i make a few mistakes...

It's the new year, I still havn't dated my check with 06 yet. Give the cop a break.

Fighting over something so minor is stupid. You didn't stay a the stop sign for 3 sec and got caught, take it like a man. Just go get it reduce and pay it. And don't forget to stop next time.

ask to get it reduced?
maybe from a 170 fine to something less?

Ask for a ticket for "fail to obey traffic control device"...its $172.00, and way less demerits. Then (if you got the balls) ask for an R/O.
