Getting land in the new brighton area is NUTS. i am glad i got mine when i did, my parents are trying to buy a lot to put a house on, and there is very limited supply, plus the cost keeps going up by the week.

Great area tho, the Brighton Club is pretty cool.

My sister is looking here as well, there are 100 people infront of her waiting for a lot! The sales guy said that it would be at least 6 months before she got a phone call! I just cant believe that a 1300 sq ft house here with no garage is selling for 240K!!!!

i paid 350K for just under 2000sq feet, but it has an attached double garage, and we did a lot of upgrades like bonus room, hardwood floor, stainless steel appliances, better carpets, jetted tubs and stuff like that,

this market is getting crazy, and worse by the day, i heard that there were over 3000 propertys ont he market at this same time last year, and this year there are UNDER 800, thats why people are getting into bidding wars on property.

I heard that new brighton is being built on a old dump so you better hope some crazy toixc fumes don't come out is the next couple of years.

I know what you mean, when I moved in here, May of 04 it was pretty cheep then, paid 250K for 1860 sq ft, sounds like the same up grades, but ceramic tile instead. If I would have known then what I know now I would have spent more for sure!

Its great, this place is a gold mine and house costs just keep going up and up!

PS New Brighton is South of the landfill.

This end of town is going crazy, I'm accross the Foot from you guys in McKenzie Lake/Mountain park.

House has more than doubled since built. (2500sqft, 15000sqft pie lot w/ walkout onto green space)

Sucks for property taxes, but thats of no concern when the prices are this good.

Seems like this whole area (Douglas Dale, McKenzie [Lake, Towne] New Brighton, CopperField, Cranston) is just skyrocketing.

I know I see it every morning I drive to work and get owned at DouglasDale and Deerfoot.

Just be careful in Cranston, we looked at 2 homes for sale on one street in cranston and it turned out the entire street had sank 6 inches and foundations were cracking. The entire street had to have under pinning done on their homes and in the last 3 weeks, 11 homes have gone up for sale (private and realtor) on that street alone.

Yeah, 90% of my homies live in the NW, it's the same.

Tuscany through to Panorama Hills is very similar.

I work for one of the "big" home builders too, and am seeing the impacts first hand.

    Crazyness.

In fact we are buying again in cranston this week. Cranston and Aubirn bay are forcasted to outsell every other new community in calgary this year.

I cant remember the street name, I'll see if I can find it. One of the ladies who was selling her home on welist told us the whole street except for 3 homes sank. At that time, there were 7 that had been sold or were currently for sale. Since then (a few weeks later) there has been 4 more added to the sale list.

This is one of the sinking homes and the owner of this home told us about the street sinking. They also had a nice sized crack in their foundation to prove it: http://www.welist.com/detailed.php?listing=18089
