"This will be a year for bad phone calls. The first phone call always sets the tone for the whole year. The first phone call had a bit about port-a-potty sex, and the guy, hung up, on himself! A year of bad phone calls" hehe. What a "stupid idiot"
Mike
I personally think Toskala would be a awesoem pick, sutter has an eye for amazin talent and i seriously think this guy can bring up his game just like kipper did after he got the chance.Originally posted by mac_82
ORLY?!?
Looks like the fire sale in St Louis continues. First Sillinger, now Weight (who had to waive his no trade clause). Who could be next? Tkachuk, McAmmond, Weinrich, or Lalime?
Calgary is still rumoured to be in the hunt for Owen Nolan, as well as being mentioned as looking for a back up goaltender. Here are the following possibilites being discussed online:
-Raycroft
-Lalime
-Noronen
-Roloson
-Toskala
-McLennan
I personally would love to see McLennan back in a Flames jersey.
"ST. LOUIS -- A few hours after joining the Carolina Hurricanes, Doug Weight already was plotting his return to the St. Louis Blues."

haha canes must feel like shit
I think the 'Canes knew when the deal was going down Weight was going to be a rent a player. The fact that Weight wants back to St. Louis doesn't really surprise me either, there was talk of that before the trade even happened.
Man, I'm happy we didn't get weight. Found it funny that someone said he didn't want to play for an American team, the guy is American.
I would love for flames to get Jokinen, I think he'd have a big impact on this team. Toskola would be awesome as well, but if we got Jokinen I don't know who we would give up for Toskola as well without breaking up the chemistry of the team, I'd imagine we would have to give up quite a bit for Jokinen.
Jokinen and Toskola
jokinen is a ufa next season.
and i like mika noronen, hes pretty solid coming up.
IMO right now besides the Huselius-Langkow-Amonte line, not many lines have chemistry, so I'm not too concerned with breaking some of that up to bring in a bigger name. But I think it'll take more than what Calgary's going to want to offer to bring in Jokinen. Look at what Carolina got for Weight. 3 draft picks, and 3 players for a rent a player. Florida's going to want a similar deal to that if they're trading away their captain and best player on their team (minus Luongo), not to mention he actually likes it in Florida. They're probably going to want something that can help them here and now too, especially since they're fighting for a playoff spot. And I'm sure Keenan realizes this, but if Jokinen goes, so does Luongo. Sutter's pretty hell bent on not trading away first rounders, so who are we going to give up for Jokinen?
And I don't know if San Jose's going to want to get hosed by Calgary 2 years in a row for goaltenders if Toskola ends up doing pretty well in Calgary.
I could see Noronen coming here, although he's already pissed off he's been riding the pine this year, so I don't know how happy he'd be about coming to Calgary. He could easily be a #1 goaltender right now and could really help a team like Colorado/Edmonton/Vancouver. I could see Edmonton making a move to get him since they just loaded up on Dmen, and now they have someone extra kicking around.
We don't have very much to offer do we? I say fock it, do it by committee like two years ago.
