I prefer Jokinen myself but don't rule out lesser names like Jeff Friesen.Originally posted by buh_buh
the list is getting pretty small for a playmaking center. I think Weight was our best bet so far.

^ friesen has been a bust this year, i guess if we get him for cheap and expect a turnaround like huseleis then its ok
Listen fam, she had a big rack of lamb
And they caused mad problems like math exams
Ask my man, her tits caused traffic jams
I'd prefer Jokinen too (except I have him in my pool, and he probably won't put up many points after giong to Calgary). But there's word he wants to stay in Florida, who really knows.
After reading a couple more websites, turns out Carolina sent over 3 draft picks too (2 of them being first rounders), so essentially Carolina traded away 6 players for a 35 year old UFA for next year. This deal looks pretty good for St. Louis.
one less player to worry about tonight, heck hes th eonly player id be worried about on st louis
That's so funny as I have him in my pool also and thought the same thing. Having him in my pool though I can say, he gets points almost every night on a bad team that doesn't score many goals like the Flames, and since he's never been in the playoffs in his career, you think he would jump at the chance.Originally posted by buh_buh

In exchange for Weight and left wing Erkki Rajamaki, the Hurricanes have traded their first round draft pick in 2006, Toronto's fourth-round pick in 2006, Chicago's fourth-round pick in 2007, right wing Jesse Boulerice, center Mike Zigomanis and rights to unsigned draft pick Magnus Kahnberg
yeah but carolina needs all the extra help they can get, sure they are good in the regular season but come playoffs they arent going to go anywhere without veteran leadership.. lets see if weight can do that
Calgary better pick somethign up soon, as mentioned, the pool is drying up

You know what, I'm such a ricer. More form than function, oversized exhaust, Japanese engine, and if I put the tailgate down it kind of acts as much like a wing as the picnic table wings the fast and furious guys are bolting to their cars.
As long as they keep winning, it is very unlikly that a trade will happen.. thats just the way it is
Looks like a Carolina is gonna be making a push...
Making a push? Their first place in the NHL (points wise). Dont think they can push any harderOriginally posted by lastprodigy

^^ Yea, I think he meant pushing to get Dougy boy.
I don't see what he would do for the Hurricanes really, or the Flames.
as in stacking up some more for the playoffs where they havent had much successOriginally posted by ryder_23

- I doubt we can get raycroft, he's boston's future number one goalie. But who knows, no one would've though that Thornton would be traded.Originally posted by mac_82
ORLY?!?
Here are the following possibilites being discussed online:
-Raycroft
-Lalime
-Noronen
-Roloson
-Toskala
-McLennan
I personally would love to see McLennan back in a Flames jersey.
- I personally think Lalime is a great goalie... but will sutter risk getting him after a horrible first half of the season?
- -Noronen? whats so great about his guy..
- Roloson is good enough to be a number one goalie in most teams. Van, Col, Edm would want him more than us. It'll be awesome for us to have him as back up, but he's far better then just a backup. And I think we really have to fight to get him.
- Toskala would be the best backup choice imo, but will SJ give him up? who else do they have as a backup?
- McLennan, another great choice imo. But has had a pretty shitty season so far. (0-4) and has seem next to no actions...
^^ got to remember that Carolina plays the shittest teams in the league a total of 32 times!!! I'm sure Minnesota can even be first if they were in the southeast division.
Ok I heard from a customer today who apparently has the inside scoop on the Flames camp but seriously, the deal was done for Calgary to trade Donovan to St.Louis for Doug Weight and the deal also called for the Blues to eat up part of his contract. This was pretty much set in stone a few weeks ago when Donovan was really struggling. Anyway Olli JOkinen would look pimp in a Flames jersey.
War Mad Mike trading away Jokinen and then getting canned.

hahahaha, why would st louis take donovan for weight? i must be missing something, because i cant see that making any sense on their part!
eh, carolina just acquired doug weight, so these rumors are obviously bs
I have no clue and it was a 1 for 1 deal too. About a month ago this customer was telling me about something big that was about to go down, I guess this was it hahahahaOriginally posted by googe

He was so surprised when I told him about the Weight deal earlier today.
