Jesus man, I know you like Transformers, but you need to get out more. No one should get this upset over a movie based on children's toys.
There about $50 give/take regardless of brand, retailer...
OEMdepot has them for under $40, and they work perfectly.

I don't think there are 50x burning speeds for dvds.... To my knowledge 16x is the highes, and that takes like 5-10 mins to burn 4.5 gigs to the dvd.
I think the 50x could be the cd burning speed? I dunno
16x for dvd+r or dvd-r is pretty fast
4x for dual layer
and 8x for rewritable
Those IMO would be really good writing speeds. For the cd burning capabilities I think some of the better dvd-burners have
48x24x48
48 reading and writing speeds, and 24 rewriting speeds, which is very fast.

For spyware protection get lavasoft ad-aware and spybot 3d search and destroy.

the 50x is for cds. not dvds
Oh okay.....so 16x...is what i want...he he he
Try this site for reviews of many burners. Might help make your mind up as to which one you want.

And if you buy the burner at Memory Express, may I suggest this for a decent antivirus/firewall program:

depending on what u burn, 16x might not b such a gd idea
from what i remember, the slower u burn, the deeper the mark is on the media?
which is why if you burn at 4x on a cd, it's almost guaranteed to have no problems in ur car deck
Yeah I bought a 4x dvd burner for my desktop a few months back, it only cost me like 20$ and the dvds burnt work great. Plus it still burns a full dvd in under 30 mins

Well im sure getting mixed reviews here...lol....My buddy has a burner and it takes like as long as the movie....why is that?
Also what software do you need? or does it come with it?
