Default Flames get Boucher, Leclerc from Coyotes

The Calgary Flames have traded centre Steven Reinprecht and backup goaltender Philippe Sauve to Phoenix in exchange for goaltender Brian Boucher and left wing Mike Leclerc.

Leclerc played in 35 games with the Coyotes this season posting 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) and 29 penalty minutes. The 6’2” 208 lbs. left winger has posted 153 points (63 goals, 90 assists) and 280 penalty minutes in 326 NHL career games with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Coyotes.

The 29 year-old native of Winnipeg, MB was drafted in the third round, 55th overall, by the Mighty Ducks in the 1995 Entry Draft.

Boucher played in 11 games with the Coyotes this season posting A 3-6-0 record with a 3.87 GAA. The 6’2” 198 lbs. goaltender has a 74-83-30 record with 12 shut-outs and a 2.71 in 199 NHL career games with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Coyotes. The 29 year-old native of Woonsocket, RI was drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Flyers in the 1995 Entry Draft.

Pretty much a trade for struggling players on both sides although id say Boucher and Leclerc have more potential when playing well.

I was wondering why Reinprecht was a healthy scratch
It be sweet if Boucher can duplicate his 5 straight games of shutout hockey haha But we still need a Centerman!!!!

Yes we still need a centerman with Langkow not living up to his potential of a #1 centerman.

All I can say about the trade is...... In Sutter We Trust!

there is no way in hell langkow is a #1 center, he doesn't have potiential for a #1 either. hes a good #2 center though..

    a #1 center is forsberg/thorton type.

i like boucher though. lets see how leclerc works out for us.

i dont like it. reinprecht is way better than leclerc and boucher sucks. sure sauve blows, but i dont think boucher will really help make the situation better

Man I thought this would be a Jokinen deal but hell, it wasnt too bad, still would rather like to hold on to Rino tho.

Since they are missing a Center now, Im guessing they will pick up someone big before the trade deadline ends.

They are both backup goalies, what did you guys expect?

If you think that ROLOSON would come to calgary and play backup, you must be dreaming

Worst trade of the year IMO.

We lost a decent player for Leclerc, a nobody, and a goalie who we don't really need.

Leclerc = 21 pts this season, Reinprecht =29.

    Boucher = 3.87 GAA 3-6-0, Suave = 3.28 GAA, 3-3-0 record

    SUPER!

I wouldnt say that, I dont know about Leclerc, but did you really think that sutter will let Sauve play again after what happened? Boucher is no better or worse than Sauve

Boucher is also proven a lot better. We are one Kipper injury from going down like a fucking titanic....and Boucher is a lot more buoyant in this case than Sauve (some 80s Chevs were reliable too.....but it's MUCH more of a hit and miss)

rino for leclerc isnt bad, i dont hear alot of buzz around reinprechts faceoffs either

sure sauve does suck, but in that 7 goal loss, a handfull of those goals were ones most goalies coulnt stop either, the flames didnt show up for that game, i hear sauve has a habit of skipping out on practice
