    Default Replacing fuel pump

hey guys. Im going to help a friend replace his fuel pump on a 89 ford aerostar, is it hard to do this? I was told that the van should be lifted, then the gas tank lowered out, and the pump just comes off with a couple screws w/e. Does this sound right?

I kind of remember doing it on my dad's old 323. Never had to lower the gas tank out of the car, but alike what Jeff says, a manual would be a good idea.

grab the haynes manual for the van it'll tell you exactly what to do

    but... in a nutshell...

disconnect fuel lines, lower tank, the pump will come right out after you disconnect it's mounting plate etc,

but the haynes manual for the van will tell you the exact procedure

make sure that you drain the tank before hand or at least get the fuel level very low

and no smoking around the work area!
