I have a feeling that your friend got hosed in a fake escrow site. Are you sure its escrow.com? They can send you fake emails...

If he actually sent the cash to escrow.com he's fine. If he doesn't get the ipods they'll send him his cash back.

Sounds like he got scammed.
Escrow.com accepts payments directly the last time I checked. They did not use Western Union...

Yeah the Western Union part sounds fishy but escrow.com is legit. This is the only Escrow site you should ever use.

- Western Union does not offer an escrow service or any type of "purchase protection" policy.
...you can only stop the transaction if you call western union reps and if the payment has NOT been "received/completed" by the other guy, so unfourtunately most likely he got scammed

He probably got sent to a spoof Escrow.com page, and thought it was real.
Lesson here: Stay the hell away from anyone who wants to use Western Union.
