Been over a year, no huge changes. Still doing Spartans/Triathlons but mostly run focused. Also started the 100 pushups in a row training plan, I'm at about 70 straight now but week 6 is murder (I'm repeating it for a 3rd time)

Summer 2016- did the Challenge Penticton which is like a 3/4 Ironman but the standard distance for ITU/national/world circuits. Big achievement was qualifying for the New York Marathon with a half-marathon time of 1:23:51 at the Calgary Scotiabank Nationals. So I get to run that in November 2017.

Weight is hanging at 72 kg which is 158 lbs. Not ideal marathon weight but the wife likes it better than sub 150. If that sounds overly light, keep in mind that's around where Mayweather and McGreggor were during the fight.

After New York might go back to half-irons like Calgary 70.3 or Chinook - possibly even get a new bike. I'm still on the same 2008 Cervelo.
That's not sweat. It's your fat, crying.

Congratulations, quite an achievement and keeping it up for a decade!

I find that weighing about 150 is a good weight for endurance and stamina. My distance running days are over, I did it for about 6 years and then switched into just cycling and weightlifting.

Ahhh, sweet Covid. 174lbs as of this morning (last pic)

2018 was more racing, holding 150-160, some more obstacle races - all good.

2019 did Calgary 70.3 (half-iron) and felt good but kinda burnt out.

2020 - 0 racing just weights in my basement. Benching 160 or so. Weight crept up to 178 lbs.

2021 - Got back into running races in Sept (did 3 halfs) all were 1:37 to 1:39. That's a 15 min drop from my best times, but also 25 lbs heavier. Gym twice a week, just hit 200 bench the other day so pretty happy.

Doing 16:8 IF as best I can, protein power shake for lunch. Wore a CGM for 2 weeks which was an eye-opener - even with all the physical crap I do, am borderline pre-diabetic. Can't outrun a garbage diet.

Maybe 2022 try and qualify for Boston again before 50!

I hear you on covid, it’s been such a struggle to get any kind of routine or even group runs. Hope you are able to get back on pace and get back to your ideal form.

Make sure to keep that Inferno Raging.
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents... some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new Dark Age."
