I've been to The Stronghold a couple times, and its pretty good. Now, I havent been anywhere else, so weigh my thoughts accordingly, but I realy enjoyed myself there. They certainly had some challenging walls, but also a great beginers area.

What your referring too is Wall climbing, Rock Climbing is out doors and i wouldn't recommend that you take that on with out the help of an experienced partner.

but for me The Strong Hold is my place of preference, tons there to keep you busy, and they also have a great bouldering wall upstairs

My old highschool had a wall back in the day, one of the first in Calgary at the time. Wonder if they still have one?

I've gone to the Calgary Climbing Centre a couple of times.

Good prices from what I remember. Rock climbing is excellent variation for any fitness regime, good for the forearms, shoulders, and even your calves.

    Have fun

I went to Queen Elizabeth about 7 years ago, and they had a neat little climbing wall. That's what got me interested in it. I have gone to the Stronghold a few times, and climb occasionally at the U of C.
IMO the Stronghold is a very good facility.

Haha, when I went there they were talking about their nice new climbing wall, so it couldn't have been that long before me

Cardel Place has a new climbing wall also. A good place to start...
