    Default weak spark

So my car is not starting after installing new distributor. I have really really weak spark, i dunno if it is ignition coil or plug wires (pretty old) or what. If i pull the plug w/ wire and crank the engine, there is no spark unless i arc it to the valve cover or somthing big and metal. I can't figure out what is wrong. My brother was boosting it a few days ago and he said he made some hefty sparks between the positive cable and good positive post. Any ideas?

Could be a bad ground or a faulty coil

I am gonna replace the coil and see what happens. I am thinkin that is it because that is the ignition component that is supposed to deliver the extra 'whack' in the spark.

Alright, so i have fixed the spark but still no worky! I remember the noise doing a compression test a lot diferent. When i crank the engine over now it is a really smooth noise and before, when the car was running it changed pitch like a studdering or something. Any other ideas?

What kind of vehicle? Is the 'new' noise alot more higher-pitched than the 'old' noise when cranking it over?

its a 92 accord, it sounds higher and smoother than before when the car was actually running.

why not just test the spark plug wires to elimnate that it that doesn't work test the coil with a voltmeter that would indicate fucked coil and if the coil is still good then test ur ground
