Since it's gutted, it can't be driven but it can roll or be towed with steelies.

It can't be rolled or towed with steelies if there is NO suspension.
The wheels would just hit the wells and the car would not move.

glad this could prove to be the brain teaser for the day, it was put there and draggged off by a flat bed of some sort most flats have a winch so i'm guessin it was dragged on and pulled off

They would just weld them in place or use some other quick and simple way to fix the vertical travel of the wheels.

Whatever method used only needs to work until the car is abandoned.

When the cops recovered my MR-2 over two years after it was stolen, it was found completely gutted without wheels. The thieves left it like in an industrial park like a beached whale.

I'm not sure of what the intent was, but they tried to cut the entire car in half (front to back) with a torch. Only the driver's side floorpan held the two halves together.

I dunno how many people have access to a flatbed... What do you just call teh towing company and say I would like this car towed to the middle of nowhere and not expect soem kind of questioning as to why the car is gutted and stripped?

Yeah, I've been the victim too many times!

Amazing what you can see from a theft recovery. I've got an old video tape of my stolen MR-2 that I'll post if I can find it.
