So let me get this straight....

a strategic protest where you are clearly communicating in a humane way what you are protesting about...

    is better than...

hundreds of thousands of people causing absolute mayhem destroying everything they possibly can and thrashing everything in sight and leaving people to figure out for themselves what you are mad about.

Wow I guess that kind of makes sense.

    Who knew

What happened to that man , yes. But how the community dealt with it , with peaceful protest and without violence shows that the world is not a screwed up as the extremists and militants of the world would have you think.

Sorry, but I still believe this world is totally screwed up! Yes they did handle themselves the right way...... but to have something like this happen in the first place, is mainly what I am referring to as a screwed up world --- People have no respect for each other's beliefs or thoughts.... Something has to give in this world, or this world will be gone soon --

Well perhaps my point was that in certain areas we have come along way. Certainly better than the days of your countrys storied past of segregation, slavery and lynchings. In some respects I think we are likely further ahead in this world than 50, 100 or 150 years ago.

    Just a thought....

EDIT*** in regards to the western world and developed nations

I am not saying nor do I disagree with your statement -- but do you honestly think that the world was more cruel back then? I think the slavery was just horrible, but the way that people brutally hurt one another is just unreal today..... Maybe it is the fact that things are more exposed for us to hear and view... I just have a very hard time dealing with how humans can treat and hurt one another like they do ----- This world is just a sick place!!!!!!
