quick question guys.. I've been out of the loop for a while.

is cs 1.6 run off of normal HL?
I have a normal HL cd and cd-key and if I can just dl and install 1.6 that would be awesome.

a couple months ago I found out I need to buy cs source or some other crap like that from valve in order to play (a HL cdkey wouldn't work).

yes cs 1.6 is off of normal HL. normal HL cd key will nto work on source. you instsall cs off steam.

hmm well that's weird then..
I re-purchased HL last year and I figured I would just buy that and install cs.

well after installing steam and HL and all this new garbage I had never seen before, I find that I can't DL 1.6, source, or anything other than opposing force.

I dunno why but maybe it was because of the HL series I bought (it says Half-Life 1: Anthology)...

any ideas?
maybe I just can't use this cd-key with cs and I don't think I can.

you can.. do you see counter strike on your games list, if you cant find that.. then click browse games. and there should be on the menu on the bar on the topon games I already owned then it will let you put in your cd key.

Okay so you have steam installed, now open it.. then click on

Games-->Activate A product on steam-->next--> scroll down and accept the agreement--> then type in your hl cd key. This should activate the product for your counter-strike that you want to play. This should resolve your problem and are you getting steam from Steam ?

CP stands for Calgary Planet. You dont have to be good. you weren't that bad.
