Default Anyone Buy a Porsche Recently?

If so, can you explain this one to me?

I was checking out the Boxster option list, if you buy the following separately:

    Bi-Xenon Headlamps
    Self Dimming Mirrors
    Heated Seats
    Floor Mats
    Wheel Caps
    Bose System

    It totals $5220.

If you were to buy them in a package 'Preferred Package Plus', it totals $6990. Now usually there is a significant discount for buying options in a package, but this doesn't make sense for the Boxster.

Now the Cayman S 'Preferred Package Plus' is $6990 as well, it includes all of the above plus Powered Seats and a Remote CD Changer ($3080 option) so if you bought all of the above separately for the Cayman it totals $8300 so that's a $1310 discount for the Cayman S options.

Conversations like this can be intense.

Those options should cost more then $5000...

Bi-Xenon is app. $1500 .. Bose sound is app. $2300 as well and the auto dim is $1000 already .... heat seats is app.$700 .. Mats app. $300 .. and Caps should be another $300 ..

So .. total up app. $6K .. and the package is $5400 .. so .. u save app. 10% .. which is reasonable.

I guess you mixed up the package+triptronic .. and the package plus ..

Anyway ... a fair Boxster should runs you app. $75K-80K .. and Boxster S should be app. $85K-90K ...

What a bargain, consider it is app. half the price of it's big brother!

I think Porsche is counting on its customer not caring about nickels and dimes.

$1770 isnt exactly nickle and dimes, especially on a boxster...

Not being foolish but I always thought Porsche owners shit bricks of gold and $1770 isn't an object.

And the configuratons are so confusing that I bet most don't find out that they are getting ripped off.

Shit bricks of gold? Damn, that's why it was yellow... all those damn gold bricks I flushed down the toilet....

Seriously though, perhaps there is something else in the package that isn't mentioned?...
It is unusual that they would make an oversight like that. However, if you bring it to their attention, they might raise the price of everything else to make the package a good deal

I find that the price that is on the website is never close to what you actually pay for the car.

I would suggest going down to the dealer to get the real deal.

I've had several new(er) Porsches lately and the way the options are priced/offered, it piles up very quickly!

It's funny, all other companies are trying to offer more for less and here's Porsche not even offering power seats on a 130k Carrera S!

I'd help but I didn't special order, I bought it off the lot, adding and subtracting options wasn't an "option" lol

    Hey Zorro

What options did your Carerra 4 come with? I'm curious about the Sport Seats and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).

also the BOSE audio is listed as $2330, not $1330 that you used for your calculation.
