    Default Need Help :D

just wondering if anyone makes slip ons/bolt on exhausts for a 2005 Suzuki GS500F... i dont want a full system cause i dont want to spend that money on a full system and i would want to put the stock exhaust back on when i resell. I was told they dont make exhausts for them... so do they?

Vance and Hines makes the exhaust for the GS500 (but it was for the 89-02 models ... so not exactly sure if it will fit the newer 2005). It's got a nice sound (not terribly louder) and does give you a little more oomph.

Yoshimura also makes one but most people say you should re-jet your bike to get the full potential out of this one. Again, same idea, they only make them for the older models.

I do think that the V+H and Yoshi exhausts will work on the newer ones but I guess you'd want to make sure it clears the faring and all first.

I've seen people who have fitted stock R6 and GSX1000 exhausts on their GS500 (but you'll have to get the mounting customized)

    as a general idea...

To dyno a bike and get a baseline (power, but also EGA and other info), install the pipe, install and K&N and jet properly you're looking around 3-4 hours usually. There's no point in rejetting a bike for a slipon unless you're putting a K&N in it. It doesn't lean it out too much. We charge $80 an hour...

Stoppie, you want to talk to the people at gstwin.com. They're all about the GS500.

The only things I can think of are that the Americans stopped selling the naked version a year before we did, and the carb jetting might be a bit different because of the colder climate. At any rate it won't hurt to ask around, I'm sure they'll have one or two canadians who, if they can't tell you everything you want to know, will at least know the difference between them and the americans.
