Default 00 Celica GTS VS 00 Civic SIR

    This is my civic

    http://forums.beyond.ca/showthread.p...ighlight=civic

And there is guy basically wanting to straight trade his 00 silver celica gts for my civic.

His car has 120k and mine has around 75k.

His celica is pretty much stock except for stuff like intake, stereo..

I'm not really planning to keep the celica i'm just basically looking to trade for something that is easier to sell without any loss.

I'm looking for opinions here, so do it or not?

as much as I like the celica, a straight trade for your civic is a huge lose for you, and a great deal for the other guy. imo

I'd make the trade. Turbo's Hondas are not easy sells because most people know that the engine could go at any time & consider it a risk. You will have no problems peddling off the Celica to some women.

If you really want $18,000+ for your car I would definitely say no trade. You won't get that much for an 00 celica with that many kms. I sold mine for 17,300 with approx. 45,000kms on the motor and 115,000kms on the car. My car was in fatastic shape and came with a decent amount of mods and a pretty good stereo. I had been asking around 18.5k the year before and there was zero interest. The market doesn't seem to be very good for seventh gen. celicas around here - for some reason people just don't like them I guess.
But I also have no idea what the demand would be for your car either. I would say you could get between 16 and 17k for the celica without any problems.

There's no demand for celicas. I've seen many people have troubles trying to sell them. I'm not a big fan of them either - such a narrow power band.

If you want a quick sale, you might want to consider parting your car out. It's a lot more work, but you'll get a lot more of your money back. I got quite a big chunk of change parting out my last car.

I wish I could but I think it's just too hassle to part this car out since I have no garage.

This car is completely built..I will even have to remap the computer.

I was thinking about that..but it's 6spd. So I'm not sure if there are many women willing to drive 6spd. lol

celicas are deffinately sweet ass cars but there is no way you will be able to get anywhere near even 16g's for a 00 celica with that many km. Best bet is to try to get at least 4-5g's from him (that of course is taking in consideration that you want to selly your car for 19 thousand)

Dude its still not worth it believe me. u make this trade u will regret it sooooo badly.

if ur having a hard time selling the civic then keep it have some fun, beleive me with the celica there is not too many parts out there and u will not have that much fun with a stock celica.

I would take the Turbo setup off the civic and return it back to

stock and then tell the guy you will trade him straight across, or

try selling the car stock and sell the Turbo Setup separtly

    probably more money that way.

    I decided not to trade.
I ran the vin and the car was even in an accident when the owner said it has never been.
