an impractical idea for 'tinted' windows

dunno if anyone here as been to the bankers hall Earls [calgary]

but if u have, u probably noticed that the bathroom stalls have that cool technology that when the door is open the glass door is completly see thru. but when closed there is a current that changes the direction of the electrons or some shit and it completly fogs up so that it is no longer transparent.

anyway, i thought it would be hella cool to apply that concept to your driver side doors

not the silvery grey fog color of the bathroom, but if u can make it so that it works like tint. then it would be great. and if u get pulled over by the cops open the window half way, and there will no longer be a connection, so the window will look normal, and you wont get a ticket.

i say its an impractical idea, cuz it would prollie cost the same price as most of the cars owned by ppl on this forum, (since the technologhy may not exist) and its definetly illegal

just thought id share my dumb idea

I thought of this idea a while back and looked into it and i think i remember they already have it just not widely used.

on another note, i can just see this earls bathroom thing malfunctioning and going clear, in the middle of someone taking a big heffer in there. That would be embarassing.

The new boeing 787 will be equipped with electrochromic windows, But I vaguely remember these windows being used on an airliner prior to this..
this technology is not new to automobiles though..take a look at a self dimming rearview mirror

In the 50's you could turn a dial on the window of a luxo airliner and adjust the polarization of the window.

yeah thats it !

I think a photochromatic tint would be a good idea (like the transitions eyeglasses), your windows would tint during the day and keep your car nice and cool and then become transparent at night for visibility
