    Default The Official Weight Loss Thread

    I've seen a few of these type of threads floating around and I thought I'd consolodate. I also thought posting my progress may help keep me motivated. If you're in the process of losing weight, trying to get in shape or putting on some muscle, post your current method and progress to date here.
    I'll start

    Date: March 26
    Method: Body for life food, Cardio Tues/Thurs/Sat, Weights Mon/Wed/Friday
    Height: 6'2"
    Current Weight: 235lbs
    Weight loss: 0 lbs (I'm just starting)
    Goal Weight: 190-200lbs depending on muscle gain.

    Height: 5' 11.9"
    Current Weight: 229.2lbs
    Weight loss: 6.0lbs
    Goal Weight: 180lbs

    Not trying to put on any muscle, I am already quite strong and decently built, I just have a little extra.... insulation.

    Would be nice to fit into some size 32 pants though!

    Uh that's not really a diet, that's more of a trailer-trash lifestyle.

    I'm glad it worked for you to lose 70 pounds, but I doubt it increased your health

    Method : eating healthier,running,light weight work out.
    Present weight 229 lbs
    Weight loss : 82 lbs
    Goal : under 190 lbs (and run a half marathon) by Dec 2006.

    here goes for me:

    Date: Feb 20th, 06
    Method: Eating better, HEAVY weight training, Moderate cardio. 10 before 10 after weights 4 days a week, 5th day 30min cardio + stretch. No drinking for now..
    Height: 6'3"
    Starting weight 304.5lbs
    Current Weight: 291lbs
    Weight loss: 13.5 lbs
    Goal Weight: 240-250lbs Solid build.

    Im in decent shape for my size. Fairly strong and Agile. Would like to trim fat and become rock solid. good luck all. Not sure if I want to get to 240 and loose my lineman size and try for Linebacker in Mens league Football. We shall see how fast I get lol.

    "Phase 1 Start Date": Jan '03
    Method: Atkins Diet
    Height: 5'9
    Start Weight: 260lbs, size 42" waist
    Weight loss:70lbs

    After 3 months was down to 190, The Atkins Diet Worked but was EXTREMELY Unhealty as i really didnt do it properly and lost too much wieght too fast. I ended up in the hospital after catching a commom cold that turned into full blown Pheumonia in less than 24 hours due to the lack of everything my body was missing, carbs etc.. can be important!. That was a pretty scary experience....2 months later i was at a "healthy" 215, and stayed there for almost a year. I had lost Alot more muscle mass than i would have thought and starting phase 2 was alot harder than i could have imagined, but i knew i wasnt anywhere near my goal.

    Method:Weight lifting, cardio, Completely revamping my Diet and lifestyle
    Start Weight:215
    Current Weight 190, size 32" waist
    Weight loss:25-lbs

    As of right now I am in a bulking phase, and i would like to be around 200lbs, but a good 200lbs...Through alot of hard work over the past 2 years, i have decreased my Body Fat percentage by apx. 20%, and I had been down to 180, so i guess i had lost a total of 80lbs. Now its only Muscle Mass that i want to gain

    Just a Word of Advice to you guys out there trying to lose weight, As hard as it may seem at first to stay with it just keep sticking to whatever it is that seems to work. Sometimes you might not lose weight for a week or two and get discouraged, but dont let it take you of track from your Goals. I have had a few stretches over the last 2 years where i have slacked off for a week or so, but making goin to the Gym part of my rountine (4-6 times a week) is what has really payed off, As well as a Balanced Diet.

    The Real Kicker for me is seeing people i havn't Seen since High School or 4-5 years ago and not being recognized AT ALL!...its kinda funny because to me I'm still the same guy...but the Fat kid inside me cant help but enjoy the compliments

    Two weeks in and heres the first update

    Start Date: March 26
    Todays Date: April 7th (two weeks in)
    Method: Body for life food, Cardio Tues/Thurs/Sat, Weights Mon/Wed/Friday
    Height: 6'2"
    Starting Weight: 235lbs
    Current Weight: 225lbs
    Weight loss: 10lbs
    Goal Weight: 190-200lbs depending on muscle gain.

    Well, so far 10lbs down and 30lbs left to go I'll keep the updates coming.

    Update for me Today i weighed in at 280.5lbs. total loss of 24lbs. Still doing good.

    I guess I should update in here as well.
    As of last week (haven't gone in this week yet, been too busy) I'm down to 222.2lbs, for a loss of ~13lbs
    Not bad for a month, and the whole time I honestly feel like I've been stuffing my face.

    I haven't done a lot for exercise, since near the end of the semester is the worst time in the world to start working out, I just can't steal the time any more.

    date: after April 28th(last day of finals)
    method: get off my lazy ass, hit the gym or go for a run/bike ride every day, eat healhy
    current weight: 225lbs
    goal weight: ~200-210lbs depending on muscle mass

    i really cant wait for school to end. all i do is sit on my ass all day and gain weight.

    Method: Dropping lots of E and dancing all night, smoking crack,having lots of unprotected sex with bar sluts, and only eating 1 meal per day consisting Kraft Dinner extra cheese.

    I'm trying to start my first cut in a while- on my own (it occured naturally I guess in college when my workouts where regimented by my coach)....

    I was looking up stuff about fats and all that, and now I'm just confused. Where do you find good fats and where do you find bad fats?

    Does this mean I can still enjoy my spanish olives?!

    well i tubbed out a little, just a spare tire i want to get rid of and get back on the muscle gain, i got comfortable with myself during the school year:

    Date: i bet i can lose it in just under a month so May 31
    Method: Working at the Weed Man 6 days/week, hitting the gym hard after
    Height: 5'7
    Current weight: 145-150 lbs (yeah i know, i'm little and chinese, but i can definetly see the gut forming)
    Goal Weight: 135-140 (just getting rid of fat, but i'd like to get to maybe 155-160 bulking long term next year)

    Well I might as well post here. Just did an assessment today finally.

    I lost quite a bit of weight when I was sick for 3 weeks. So I'm not certain of official start weights or dates.


    Original weight: 162.4 (Feb or Mar/06)
    Method: Eat healthier, exercise more regularly, don't drive everywhere
    Height: 5'6
    Current Weight: 149.8
    % Total Body Water: 51%
    Lean Muscle Mass: 103.4
    %BF: 27.6
    Weight loss: 12.6 lbs
    Goal Weight: ~135
    Goal BF%: 23

    I need to drink more water dammit
