Default reasons a vehicle stall while it was in drive?

Does anybody know wht the reason is for a vehicle to be stall while it was indrive?. Some ridiculous thing happened to my gf's vehicle when she was getting back from school this afternoon. She was doing 80km/h, out of the blue, all the lights all the dashboard going on inluding (battery, engine, oil, handbreaks), steering wheel was tight, rpm was 0, brake wasn't working.

it was luckily that nth happened to her. From wt i've known so far, the engine was off at that moment. But y?

That happened to my first car (89 escort gt) the very first day I had insurance and was going to pay a fine, the faulty ford ignition module overheated shutting the car down, I had no brakes or steering or anything and basically thought I was going to die. If you g/fs car happens to be something like an 89 escort gt dont bother fixing it just sell it :P

haha, funny about the escort...my aunt will never buy a ford because she once owned an escort that had an issue like that, and she found out about it while she was driving at night in a winter storm on the highway. scared the hell out of her.

i know, i actually just called the mechanical department in Hyatt, (where it was puchased), but the kinda impressions that i have for the mechanics in especially dealerships, they're mostly ripped.

he said that my warranty has expired, so wtever happened would
be my liabilities. But when my girl purchased her vehicle, the sales told her that she would be getting 5 yrs warranty since day 1. Here's the funny thing, the mechanic is requested a written documents that saids 5 yrs warranty, but instead on the bill of sale, i saw BALANCE MFG WARRANTY.

u guys have any idea wt it is?

since day 1 means day one of the cars life, not day 1 that your girlfriend owned it.

balance of warranty means whatever is left. if it was a 5 year warranty, and the previous owner had it for 4 years, the balance is 1 year. (5 years from its original purchase date)

Something like that happened before to me, car died at around 80km/hr I could throw it in gear as it was a standard and got it going again, got it checked out and fuel pump was dying. It was a 89 accord.

I've stalled a couple times (automatic?!), not sure what happened but luckily I was in a parking lot so I wasn't going fast and was able to stop the car. Rarely happens though so whatever...
