    Default Offsets

i know there is alot of shit on offsets already on the board, but im pretty sure not like this..

i was wondering, how you would go about finding the right rim offset, for a car with a widebody kit, or Bigger fenders..

For something like a civic that has a +40'ish offset?
    and for a 240sx that has a +33 ish i think?
    just for examples...
and how the offset on a dished rim works?

I think (THINK) deep dish rims have negative offset.

And for the wide body, well how much is the fender goign to come out? Get that much offset... my guess

if you have wide fender flares and quarter flares and you want deep dish and not afraid to go thick on a 240sx for example, you would want soemthing in the -30's or so.

Both sites should give you a relative idea on what offsets are all about.

EDIT: Something else I forgot to mention, isn't exact but will give you a rough idea. When I had my 240, I held a tape measure from top, outside of the tire, having the end resting on the edge of the tire. Sort of eye balled it looking down where the fender was to determine what measurement would make it flush. Not a very accurate system but I had +45 offset wheels at the time, needed about an inch, so 25mm spacer. Guys with same width wheel with +20 offsets were getting pretty damn flush! Ghetto but seemed to work! I would recommend against spacers as well, if you can get properly offsetted wheels, do that instead.
