    H&R Block is garbage.

If you're taxes are straight forward and you don't have to deal with moving expenses and shit like that buy quicktax and do it yourself.

H&R block 'accountants' are useless. You'll probably end up paying close to the same with a real accountant. Quicktax is so easy to use, even with moving expenses and extra income.

I still have 4 netfiles on my QuickTax left to go if you wanna split the cost.

H & R blocks accountants require a 3 month course. They dont know anything.

Do you have more than 1 of any T4, T5, T1?

Are you self-employee or own a small business?

    Do you have any dependents?

If no to all of the above, quicktax would take care of it for you.

If yes, you should talk to an accountant to at least try to learn from him/her before filing yourself next year.

did you move from BC to AB for work?

If so, I hope you kept all of the receipts related to your move. There are quite a lot of expenses that you can claim: charges for cancelling/setting up utilities and services, meals, taxi/transpo, i think the cost of changing your driver's liscence and other car-related things, etc.

An accountant will know exactly what can and can't be claimed as well as know all of the little tricks to claim as much as possible.

I got mine done at a private palce up here. Cost $100 I am getting just over $1000 back, so now should I either buy something for the car, or pay off bills?

I bought quicktax this year and it gives me 5 reports that I can file over $25k, and unlimited amount under that, so If you want to save some cash, and your return is straight forward, PM me, bring a couple beers and you can do it here.

The company I use only charges $70 for personal tax filing.

    $140 for Private Businesses.
