Default Incorporating a Business in AB

I am planing on incorportaing a business here in Calgary and I was wondering if anyone has some suggestions on lawyers, or other sources I can use to minimize my costs.

I have called around and I can't believe how much prices vary from lawyer to lawyer to incorporate.

    look up namequest

thats what they specialize in. $350 around there. Take 2 min over the phone. Just tell them what company name you want and next day its done. Nice minute book, everything. Includes all the fees.

then go to harry hays with the documents you get from namequest and get a business number and gst number. Finished.

Then just get yourself an accountant ASAP.

Another option that would save you money is buying those Legal-ease forms, which are pretty much fill in the blank as well. Then going to the registry and incorporating yourself.

    $207 for incorporation
$50 for NUANS name search (if you want a named company)
    +$40-50 for legalease kit

Just a thought, but I would personally go through the namequest service.

It would also pay to have a paralegal friend! I paid $132 (actual govt cost of incorporation and supplies) and $50 for the nuans search, all in under $200. Complete minute book, share certificates and everything.

Dont forget to register your business and GST (if applicable).

On the cheap, just go to a registry office. They have all the information that you need there to incorporate.
