Default Evo's have hit US shores...

I saw an Evo VIII today, he had the window sticker and everything from the dealership. I got to say, I'm not loving how it looks. Have you guys seen any up in Canada yet? I'll try to get my camera and head down to the dealership and see if I can get some pictures.

There was a posting of one in Cali a couple of weeks back with the dealer asking $50,000 US.

Yeah I saw that. Way to much money for an Evo, IMO.

I'm disapointed that the AWD electronics are gone.....and those clear tails have to go!!!

Also, why oh why does this car NOT have a boost guage? Like that last circle on the dash needs to say "Lancer". Even the SRT has a boost guage FFS.

Oh well, regardless, I do like it and would love to get one if they sold it here. A-pillar boost guage and standard tails....and I would be happy. I wonder if there are any STi's coming to Calgary?

I think the STi will rock all over the Evo VIII.

People in the states have just started dyno testing them. 258HP and 270 ft/lbs of torque. At the wheels. Looks like Mitsu under-rated the cars a tad when you figure on approximately a 12% drivetrain loss.
"Playing around" without adding any actual extra parts the guys made 280whp. The turbo can hold 20psi fairly well on pump gas apparently
Subaru can lick my nuts, the EVO will own it. Especially once the aftermarket gets ahold of the EVO. An EJ"Some homo #" has nothing on a 4G63

hmm the stock dubRX only dynoed at 168 or so whp in import tuner...at that rate i wouldnt expect the STi to be anything over 200 whp

lol, Mitsu seems to be doing that on all their cars...Outlanders look ugly as FUCK with those altezza's on its ass.

I saw a big ass article in i THINK SCC, or something like that a few months back while i was slacking off at work, Huge Comparison of the Evo 7 vs WRX STi.
The Evo had a slight lead in most of catagories, but were pretty much deadlocked.
The Evo ended up winning the challange...They tested everything from accel, comfort, handling, road tests, blah blah blah, tons of shit, like, 4 or 5 page full article i think

The STi is rated at 300 hp, 300 ft/lbs for the US. Mitsu fans better hope that Subaru doesn't under-rate.

Like mentioned in my previous post. The 4G63 is stronger than any of Subaru's Imprezza motors. Ever. Way more aftermarket potential with the Mitsu powerplant.

Not to mention the fact that it's going to come with all the cool extra's that were stripped off of our Evo VIII.
