Default RIP Winnipeg Arena AKA old barn

The Winnipeg Jets former home was demolished yesterday. Bobby Hull and Thomas Steen's numbers were retired there (I was in attendance at Steen's) Domi beat the snot out of many there, Teemu Selanne broke records, Khabibulin made a name for himself, and it was hard to see, hear, and the scoreboard sucked (4 sided, and it was just a bulb screen, similar to the diagonals at the saddledome, but WORSE!!!) But I'll miss it.

With a whopping 15 000 seats, it doesn't look too promising...feckin idiots. WHY do you build a non NHL ready arena in a city of that size?

Because they didn't have an NHL team or the prospect of getting one?

Why make a building already too big for the team that will be using it even bigger because you might get an NHL team in 10 years? They made it a size that they could make a case of supporting an NHL team but not forgetting that they don't have one.
