Deferred Finals

I'm just wondering if anyone is in the same situation as me.

For the past month or so my uncle was in ICU in Vancouver General Hospital and last Wednesday he passed away. I was wondering if the UofC would allow me to defer my finals for Winter 06. Some people told me you can only defer a final if you miss it and that's pretty much the only time you can.

If anyone has had this type of situation come up I would appreciate it if they could tell me what they did to defer the finals.

I had my math midterm deferr this sem. If you want your finals deferred I think you need to go to the department of the subject you want to deferr. There should be forms there for you to fill out and if not ask the front desk? Then you talk to the Dean of that department, explaing the situation. He / she will give you your avaliable options and you take it from there. For my case I had my midterm mark exempted. I'm not sure if thats how it goes in UC but thats what I had to do in MRC

The registrar and U of C website list all the requirements to get a deferred exam.
