    Default Replacing Front Windshield

    330 has a nice long crack on the front windshield which will require replacement prior to selling. Has anyone had theirs replaced? The cost? The shop you would recommend?

    My insurance agent said it'll cost $1200 but I'm hoping it's nowhere near that.

    I can't see an E46 windshield costing that much, even at full price.

    National, they replaced my truck windshield for about $280. Unless you need OEM, they are about the cheapest around.

    Few years back I was quoted $350 for the glass insurance, back then a windshield for that car was $180 now its even cheaper.

    Insurance is just not worth it, plus you will end up with the claim and I was told that claim is a claim and that's $$$$ in future. I may be wrong though but one thing for sure no matter what you do they will always fuck you and you will pay for it sooner or later.

    On two occasions I came across very expensive windshields that would require the insurance;

    My uncle paid $1200 for the windshield for his XJ8 but that's not available anywhere but the dealer, and its heated - yes heated front.

    $1200 was also a glass for stupid 95 Dodge Colt - that's was in 98 or something, stupid expensive parts for that car, headlight was like $700 where the headlight for new C-class is $300 @ the stealership

    My odl 7 has heated front as well.
    Not to mention back and side windows are probably not cheap either. Hence why in this case glass insurance would be a nice thing to have, someone breaking glass to get sound system would end up caosting me more then just buying a new deck.
