I don't think you need a boat to fish in Chestermere, there's a lot of water skiing action over there. I've mostly seen people fishing on the other side of the boat launch near the tunnel. Most of the fish I see people catch are small pikes.

Here are some fish I caught in the Bow river this season. All fish were released. I wouldn't eat anything out of the bow personally. But there fun to catch.
