Default What do you guys think of my car? 1985 Widebody RX-7 Project

    Hey everyone,
im new to beyond and just wanted to get some opinions on my car! Its a 1985 Mazda RX-7 Widebody. The modifications as of now are: CP racing widebody kit, with Turbo whale tail spoiler, sumitomo 315/35/17 rear tires, 275/40/17 fronts, Racing beat springs, tokico blue struts, RB front sway bar, Current engine is a 12a stockport (going to be upgraded REALLY SOON), weber 45dcoe with ramflo filter, RB upper and lower intake manifolds, full racing beat exhaust. Full interior swap from another RX7, full electrical swap, new radiator, Carter fuel pump, holley fuel pressure regulator, momo race steering wheel, the list goes on and on, but this is all I remember at the moment.

Future plans: 17x12 rear and 17x10 front CCW Classic rims (saving up the money right now...), Megasquirt/haltech/microtech standalone, Ford 9" torsen differential, TII engine/trans combination. I plan on rebuilding the motor myself, with a large streetport, FMIC, T3/T4 turbo (still undecided), 3" exhaust, etc etc etc....

Let me know what you guys think!

Looks like some of your neighbours won't be able to get out of their driveways haha. Your car is pretty nice, although I'm not liking the look of the widebody kit. Keep us updated on this project .

Haha ya I took the pictures a month or two ago after the huge snowfall. Its hard to tell in the picture but the snow is all in the middle of the culdisac (sp?) so they can still get out. It did take me a little time to get used to the look of the HUGE widebody, but I think the rims will bring it all together!

Here is a teaser picture of what the rims looks like

Thanks for the comments, I am somewhat making this car a racecar, but at the same time I would like to keep it street legal. My goal is around 400 RWHP+, which should make it a good weekend warrior at the track as well.

that's amazing, my hockey coach when I was a little(er) guy built a car just like that, back in the early 80's when the car was still new. He had finished it, drove it once(!!) and it was stolen the next day and never recovered. Your car really brings me back! haha

1st gen Rx-7s are soooo much fun. I still miss mine.

Yours looks great. Maybe a little wide for my tastes but very cool.

i think u need to match the rear end with the look of everything else, the rear shot kinda makes the car look older compared to the rest of the shots, im guessing its stilll a huge work in progress tho, looks awesome, good job

But then again, thats because I drive a DSM. I personally have found my car very reliable, but thats because I get lamb at a good price.

very unique! Reminds me of a 70's/80's euro sports car...cool stuff! Keep us posted and definitely put up some pics soon

actually it reminds me of some of those older rally cars that Lancia and Peugeot had back then
