yeah, and now harper wont even lower the flag on the peace tower, or allow media to see the caskets arriving.
I have a problem with that.
IMHO the public has a right to see the impact of having our troops in Afghanistian....good or bad.
It also helps the people left behind to grieve.
R.I.P.
Harper is kinda dumb defending this decision giving opposition all the ammos they need when alienating Canadians. And the true issues are now pushed off to the side.Originally posted by D. Dub

I can see the problem that if more soldiers were to die, the media will keep showing it and will affect public opinion. Opposition won't object to the war for now (they send them there in the 1st place and for good reasons) but they are loving this and will soon jump on the bandwagon when this thing get rolling.
And the eastern bias CBC doesn't help either. Every report goes 10 mins critizing the government and displaying negative opinions then for their 'fair and balance' coverage, spend 30sec on all the military personnel and veterans that supports the decision.
The other parties have already been rumbling about a no confidence vote.
It's a sad time right now in parliment.

Typical..
I don't think it's debatable regarding Canada's long term plans for Afghanistan. We aren't leaving until it's stable, or are relieved for a very long time.
It's about how the current administration handles it. Harper's failure to table any substantial bills since his enpowerment, and disregard for the oppsitions opinions, are going to kill his administration.
Better get ready to vote come 2007, unless we a politically convenient terrorist attack like the Bush administration got.
Lets hope not.Originally posted by dericer

If it happens, Haper will need to be tortured and killed for his part in it.
