I know quite a few people that live in Bearspaw and Chrurch Ranches....They love it. I would move there in a second if I could get my wife to move. My buddy that used to live out there had shaw for internet. What park of Bearspaw are you looking at Upper or lower?

You are below the water table, for a quick defintion of that = you are going to get flooded, thats why we moved.
AWESOME area ..
Well.. any house there is $1M plus ... so ..must be good!!
Lynx Ridge is awesome too ( is it part of Bearspaw? )

nope lynx ridge is its own community. I lived with my parents in bearspaw for a while and i liked how it was so quite. very peaceful but it is annoying having to drive so far to get anywhere.Originally posted by C4S

but you can get telus, shaw services end at tuscany. funny thing is my parents place is about 100 feet from where you can get shaw and they still can't get it.
if your looking into some areas up there look at blue ridge, or the area right across from bears paw golf course. those are probably some of the better places.
That could have been solved if the builder made the proper precautions ahead of time. There are ways to build on land below the water table.Originally posted by snowcatxx87

True about the water in Church Ranches, like was said before its the builders who didnt take that into consideration. Bearspaw is not the same, houses tend to be a bit older or very new, either way, if you have the money and dont mind driving a bit of a ways to get to work, its nice area to live

I lived opposite of church ranches, 14something Bearspaw Hills road or something like that.
Every year the ponds would creep up even farther....

How was the water levels during last year rains ?
Bearspaw is AWESOME to live. Bunch of my buddies live out there.
A few of my friends live there, huge houses and they don't have a problem with internet / phone from shaw / telus
I couldn't imagine myself living that far away from school / work but they love it.

no matter where you live, you have to take the proper measures to prevent flooding. Even in the burbs many people's homes get flooded because the downspouts from their neighbors are pointed directly at their foundation....duh! I dug a trench from the front of my house to the back past the walkout ihwhich I installed weeping tile. I then hooked my neighbors downspout into it without even asking him before hand.
Most people don't think about how to handle water when they buiding their house here. Maybe it's becuase we live in "dry Alberta"...I don't know.
