MR2 OWNERS>>>Any MR2 (SW20) specialist/shops in Calgary??????

I need someone/automotive shop with some experience with the Toyota MR2 (JDM). Dealership wise...I've never had a good experience. Just last month I went to get an inspection done at Toyota Heninger...where they told me I needed to replace my timing belt ($500)...AT ONLY 20,000KM ON MY NEW BELT...WHAT THE HELL?? MR2 owners in Calgary...imput would be great.

My 3SGTE engine is currently running stock with about 143000kms on it. Currently its leakin a bit of oil (drop or so)...either from the oil pan gasket or lines. Am gonna go and get a dye test pretty soon. Hopefully nothing major... But if there is...I want someone confident to do the work...cause i'll probably get alot of other stuff replaced...ie water pump. Considering you have a MR2 yourself...what kind of work have you done on your car?...

Did you get the belt replaced at Henninger?

timing belts need to be replaced at 5 years OR 100,000kms

Post in the mr2 section or Ill miss these threads With that leak that you have they may have it might be from the cam seals and to do that job you need to pull the belt so maybe they were just trying to upsell you. As for a specialized mr2 shop there is Project Omega in Edmonton, Rob aka Spoolin, or RDS Celica on 780tuners owns/runs it. He knows all there is to know about the sw20. As for Calgary, I would give Paul at Speedtech a call, he works in the shop and knows a lot about the sw as well.

im also looking into that, i was just told that i need to replace my timing belt, but with that the shop said i have to change other things at the same time ie water pump and others....how much am i looking at?
