saw this movie (promo screening) the other day, i must say i was pretty impressed, i thought it was much better done than titanic, the ending was kinda rushed though...guessing most ppl wont see it til later, but thought i'd recommend seeing it if ur headed to the theaters this weekend.

i saw it as part of the promo as well and i thought is was a great movie.. very intense and full of action. id recomend it to anyone who wants a good fast paced movie!

I think most review are comparing it to the version 30 years ago and that made this an horrible movie because the old one is about the characters and this on is about the diasaster.

It literally is titanic 2...minus all the gay crap and heavy love scene. It's more serious and bent on actually surviving. It's actually pretty good IMO

Saw it 2 nights ago. It wasn't that great, had some good special affects, but ntohing great. Really rushed.

But my cousin said its based a true story. Except that the real one had 2 bombs, one on each side of the ship but one malfunctioned, causing it to flip. Is this actually true?

Sounds quite interesting.

I would say your cousin is confusing reality with the made for television version of The Poseidon Adventure. In that version the boat was capsized by terrorist bombs. The original Poseidon Adventure was based on a book, and it was a wave caused by an underwater earthquake that tips the boat over. The newest version of the film is based more to the 1970's version of the film. I thought the 2005 television version had a much more entertaining plot, but this one wasn't too bad.
