Default mounting depth for subie impreza

2003 impreza ts. does anyone know the mounting depth for the front and rear speakers. some places i have went to have told me 6.5's would fit. the internet says 5.25 would fit. my installer has told me that the mounting depth for the front speakers are 1.5 inches and too shallow to get any good speakers in there. can anyone help me out?

get a custom spacer made to give it more mounting depth.... i'm sure any good stereo shop can do this.

I have 6.5" speakers in the front and 5.25" in the rear of my WRX. They were right that most good speakers are too deep to fit. You will need to get a 3/4" or so spacer made, its very simple and then you should be able to fit most speakers. If you want i can get you some orion cobalts coaxials (what i have) for $150 a pair. MSRP on them is something like $230. anyway they rock, I get comments about my sound at every audio shop i've every been to.

not sure i don't think i've ever heard kappas. But the head installer in red deer at the visions said they sounded just as good as his mb quarts. I don't think i'd go that far since they are $700 speakers but for the price i have never heard better. Actually for even more expensice speaker i have not heard better. My buddy in red deer owns a stereo shop thats why i get things at cost. He has sold lots of sets and everyone loves them. The only downfall in that they arn;t components so if you are a true audiofphile you might not like that but i think they sound great... i myself don;t really care if i have components or not. Oh and they also have 3ohm coils so you amp will make more power and essetially make it louder. Let me know if you want to hear them and i'll give you a demo... I seem to be doing it alot lately.
