    Default Ebay rants, peeves, beefs......

What are some of the things that bug you about Ebay?
    Here's mine:
    1) After a transaction and money has been sent, the seller ceases all communication. Bugs me because I don't know for sure if item has been sent leaving me wondering if I just got ripped off.
    2) Auctions where seller won't ship to Canada but will ship to Latvia. WTF?!?!
    3) Leaving positive feedback but not getting one in return.
    4) Power sellers/Ebay stores item descriptions that state that the sale is final - no returns, refunds blah, blah, blah - on new items. Used items I can see, but come on- what happened to customer service?

    - People who describe their stuff as "mint" or "good" condition when they clearly aren't. I've seen a lot of auctions described as that and in the photos all the paint's been chipped away and dented. I dunno what Ivy League school these brain surgeons came from, but "mint" or "good" isn't the same as "salvage"

    - Blurry photos, especially ones that look like they were taken through a pop bottle.

    - People who make no attempt in answering your questions. Someone was selling something for atleast a month straight that I had an interest in, but never replied to any of my 4 messages regarding shipping price.

    - People who charge excessive amounts of shipping. I can understand people making money off shipping to offset the cost if the item is a low cost one (ie: $2 cell phone batteries), but people who try charging you 25% of the item's worth for shipping, especially within Canada, should be shot. It does NOT cost $25US to ship something weighing at 0.3kg using regular ground, uninsured, unsigned from Toronto.

    - Weak ass descriptions. "Good condition, used few times. No refunds."

    - US sellers that only ship with UPS. You just lost my business.

I'm sure there's more I can't think of right now...

When you play them your money and and soon as they accept it, they are not longer registered on eBay. Mother fucker, atleast I know you're address!!!

Shipping rate which are like are over £10 when it doens't have to be, and then they ship it with the cheapet shipping option without insurance or anything!

    N00bs!

Scammers! (Nigera, Netherlands, India, and USA registered users usually).

People who charge excessivly for shipping. Not just 25 percent, im talking 400 percent. Item cost, 10$ shipping cost 40$.

People who make no effort to respond to emails.

When you are promised a tracking number and never get it.

    UPS. I hate UPS.

    I just remembered another one:
People who try making their money off of shipping instead of the product itself.
Once this guy from Calgary had an item for sale. He wanted $40 shipping. I was willing to bid up to $50, but since I'm in Calgary, didn't want to pay shipping. I asked the guy if it was okay if it was for local pickup and he said no because that's how he was going to make his money, on the shipping! I said screw that and didn't bid. He got owned though cause the winning bid was $1.00, so with shipping he got $41.00 out of it. He could of made an extra $9 out of me.

ain't that the truth, stupid UPS

I also love that you can set up paypal to go from your bank account... then it does almost right away for me when I send a payment, but the seller doesn't get it for a week.... that's service

Just learned a new one today......
Win an auction (Sunday). Email/invoice recieved almost immediately. Invoice paid via paypal within 15mins of reciept of invoice. Total transaction time after auction ended - 1/2hr.

Get email today (Saturday) saying items was sent yesterday (Friday) 5 DAYS after invoice paid.

reactive feedback....once I pay for the item, my part is done...they should provide feedback based on that, not wait till I leave feedback when I have the item to return feedback....thats cheap, Ebay should have a rule that doesn't allow that....

shipping, I ask about shipping to canada on a small product, they're like "add $5", so I do, shipping is then $10, I get the package, and the label says $2.35.....less than the shipping quote to the US! Fuck that kills me...I always charge actual shipping when I sell, cause thats fair....I swear, they see "canada" and they want to gouge us all....assholes

Drives me fucking nuts! Some guy would not budge on 10 pounds for shippping a Minichamps car from the UK....that's like $20 for a 3X5" item that weighs one pound

People that don't have the money to buy expensive items yet bid anyway. TWICE I had auctions that ended for $1600-2000 and both times I got some sad story at the end about why the guy couldn't pay for the item. After that I had to go through all the ebay dispute resolution BS and try to get my fees back, it was a complete waste of time.

Paying for a item and Ebay not actaully reconizing that you sent a payment to the Seller. Even when your paypal shows you the transaction happening

I sell lots of shit on ebay... and in sellers defence:

1 - I dont leave feedback till I get it. Sellers are often the ones out to scam people. If a buyer files a chargeback and it wasnt sent with insurance & tracking number I loose every single time. So I refuse to leave feedback till I have received feedback.

2 - Shipping charges. Bubble mailers, shipping labels, boxes, tape, gas to the post office, TIME, it all adds up. I put what I charge, if you dont like it then dont bid.

3 - Emailing buyers... frankly most sellers (sometimes myself) dont have time to email all the buyers telling them payment received, item shipped, hows the weather there? It gets their 99% of the time.

Those are just a couple... and yes, some seller take those to the absolute extreme. But their is a very simple solution to this problem! Dont bid on their shit lol

When sellers want LOADS of cash as a downpayment with 24 hours of auction end date.

It takes almost a friggin week to get money from my bank account into paypal, how am I supposed to get it to him in less than a day?

no, I just mean that when too many sellers take that attitude, they lose customers, myself as one....Not all ebay buyers are bad (like myself), and not all ebay sellers are good (like yourself!)
