your opinion on this ? nascar vs f-1?
level of skill needed for both?
hours of training it would take to become good in either of these sports?

hehe i was thinking that.. but eh... in my opinion i think nascar doesn't take much skill... after awhile of doing a few hundred laps it becomes a natural reflex of when yto turn to left and when to break your draft
This thread is going to be pretty massive!
Look at the tracks, end of story. The real test is fans
F1 fans
Nascar fan

^ thats one hairy dude, I won't say nascar doesnt involve skill as u are doing all the racing going around 170-210 mph, its jsut very boring to watch, im definetly an F-1 fan all the way
1968 Impala: Status: Stored
1977 Dodge Triple E RV: Sold
1989 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL: Sold
2008 Mercedes Benz C230: Cruising
2000 Bluebird TC2000: Build phase of skoolie project
2018 Rav4 XLE: New baby friendly daily
both takes tons of skill, as for being one your already to late...anyone ever see trading paint where montoya and gordon swapped cars and gordan ran 1 second slower than f1 qualifying with 2 mintues of practice...pretty sure to get there you hafta be skilled out the ass..watch IROC next time its on...
NASCAR on the road circuits is awesome. 3400 lb bohemoths sliding and bouncing around the track is great to watch.
But I'm a ChampCar man to the core.
No one has ever gone from F1 to Nascar , yet some have worked up to F1 from the lower ranks , like Andretti .
Nascar to F1 = Skateboard to S2000 . Sure they both got 4 wheels . Nothing else on 4 wheeels comes close to a F1 car . Even I could build a better Nascar because it's run by a bunch of hicks ,for a bunch of swill swallowing inbreds .
F1 is a world wide motorcar circus . The star drivers are venerated by millions of fans who follow every movement and nuance . Most Nascar fans are dumber then a sack of hammers whose only ambitions in life are to die drunk , or get lucky and actually get a women that isn't related . That said though , I'm old enough to remember the Nascar races from the early 70's and saw the likes of Richard Petty and the boys , and they put on a great show because the big three car makers actually got invovled in the sport . The competition then was fierce , and racing parts manufactored for the race car did actually trickle down to cars or parts sold at the local dealer . Now ??? You don't see any major tech coming from Nascar in modern cars , yet tech like paddleshifters from F1 are trickling down to the more exotic sports cars sold . Not to mention exotic materials like carbon fiber ,or turbo tech ( although it's been what , 15 years since turbos were aloowed in F1's ? ) or even high reving motors with awesome sweetspots .
What has Nascar given lately , other then a hangover ?
NASCAR is going to unleaded fuel next year...Originally posted by blueToy

Sadly, it's true. The EPA got pissed at 'em.
I'd just like to point out that you're completely fucking retarded. I may not be a NASCAR fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I respect the skill of the pit crews and drivers to work at those kinds of speeds and power levels, even with the old-school tech required by the rules. The F1 cars are all computers and traction control these days, and it's turned into a high-speed parade. NASCAR has started to move out of the big oval tracks and onto the twisty road courses as well. In short, I see that NASCAR, while still having a long ways to go, is moving in the right direction. F1, however, seems to be regressing.Originally posted by blueToy

Forcing technical restrictions on what is supposed to be the "pinnacle" of motorsports is retarded.
That's why I prefer ChampCar to F1. No traction control, no power steering, no automatics, etc. Better racing, IMO.
Yeah, I keep meaning to check out ChampCar - they do an event in Edmonton, don't they?
f-1..
but i would take the champ circuit.. going to edmonton this year to watch
