Default Medical Study: Study finds no marijuana link to lung cancer

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20060524/hl_nm/marijuana_dc

    Interesting tidbit:

Previous studies showed marijuana tar contained about 50 percent more of the chemicals linked to lung cancer, compared with tobacco tar, Tashkin said. In addition, smoking a marijuana joint deposits four times more tar in the lungs than smoking an equivalent amount of tobacco.

"Marijuana is packed more loosely than tobacco, so there's less filtration through the rod of the cigarette, so more particles will be inhaled," Tashkin said in a statement. "And marijuana smokers typically smoke differently than tobacco smokers -- they hold their breath about four times longer, allowing more time for extra fine particles to deposit in the lung."

He theorized that tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, a chemical in marijuana smoke that produces its psychotropic effect, may encourage aging, damaged cells to die off before they become cancerous.
So, either the active ingredient from marijuana combustion (THC) kills damaged cells before cancer starts which makes weed good for you, or those chemicals linked to lung cancer isn't really cancerous.

If it's the 2nd case, it explains other things a lot more... such as why all oldest age records are held by smokers.

If it's the first case, you can get THC without tar pretty easily... see the Volcano Vaporizer.

Split it with a few friends. Thats what we did lol. The thing pays for itself after a month or two because you use a lot less. That is, if you have to pay for it in the first place! haha.

Try the volcano, its the best one out there. My first time with it I used the same amount as I'd normally use smoking from a bong, and I was at a 15 out of 10 lol.

Keep up that research. I'm glad to hear about some more mainstream studies not catering to "a partnership for a drug free america" or some shit.

If you get a few ppl involved $400 is nothing. For me right now its pretty steep to drop 400-500 on something that gets me high.

I'm going to emphasize again that you use a lot less with the volcano. So much less that an average group of 4 will easily offset the cost in herb savings in a month or two.

^^Definatly agree. I have been using a BC Vap. for a while, and completely love it for long sessions, plus its good to use if your stash due to its efficiency.

But back on topic, i wouldve been surprised by the articles, but I think im just getting dull when it comes to media, studies, government test articles etc. telling everyone how evil and bad it is. Theres much worse things out there...such as the common cold.
