nice car. Its cool. I could help more with a comparison.
Avant = wagon for those who don't know Audi. Very cool. If my car was available in a wagon, I would have taken it over the sedan.
is the 1.8T enough power?? My parents are planning to test drive it very soon...

I think your parents would be happy with the 1.8T. It gives adequate power from the factory but the engine can gain HP very easily since it is a turbo. What other cars are they considering?
S4 Avant:
is the S4 avant even available in Canada?
Im liking the Allroad Quattro, but that is a bit pricey.
My parents want something with awd. They also like the Subaru Outback. Basically, it is down to these 2 cars. Personally, i like the styling of the Audi.
The older S4 Avant like the one in the picture wasn't available here. Hopefully the new 2004 S4 Avant will come to Canada.
The new A4's Avants look really nice and they are very classy, and the Quattro just can't be beat for weather like we've had in the past couple of days.
I never looked at the Outback, but when I was car shopping, I seriously looked at the WRX. The STi wasn't available at the time and nobody knew if it would come to Canada.
i think your parents will be vary happy with their 1.8t avant. audi makes amazing cars and the 1.8t is more than peppy enough for city/highway driving. the interior of the audi is second to none. sophisticated and luxurious. my dad just picked up an audi TT 225 (1.8t)last summer, and my mom drives a passat 1.8t.
actually... everyone in my family drives a 1.8t.. weird.
2 doors and 4 rings
What is the ride like in the Avant??
The S4 Avant is coming to Canada and you could probably order one now... or at least put down a deposit.
It is more than the All-road ringing it at over $70,000.
If you parents want more power without chipping, they should look at the 3.0. Worth the extra cost in my opinion. Little styling cues that make it look that much better than the 1.8T
I am currently in a debate myself about the A4 Avant and the 325iXT (touring). I love the Audi, it is just the payments are too high for the price of the car. I can get a more expensive 325 for less. (The lease rate is 3 points lower). The Audi is a good bang for the buck if you plan to buy outright.
The ride is very nice. If they get it, they should get the Sport Package to get rid of the wheel gap. Ride doesn't suffer that much. Plus you get 17" wheels over the standard 15" on the 1.8T.
I wish Audis weren't so popular...

thanks! i forgot, my mom is really liking the 3series wagons. We should definetly look at it. Is the 325 more powerful? Would you consider it a better bang for the buck?
Between the 325 and the 1.8t avant, which one would you guys choose?Originally posted by Impreza

Right now I am leaning toward the 325 because the payment is $100 cheaper for a car that is $7-$10,000 more than the A4.Originally posted by Impreza

Honestly, if your parents are going to buy it outright, go for the A4 Avant. If they are going to lease or finance, go for the 325ixT.
The other factor is service warranty. On the bimmer, it is only 3 years/60,000 km. The Audi has a 4 year/80,000 km one. Remember this is service only. The main warranty is the same on both. Essentially bumper to bumper for 4 years/80.000km.
Chances are with both cars that they will either have to bring in your car or you will have to order it. Wait at Audi is at least 3 months. I heard upwards of 6 months at BMW.

You see, either the 1.8T or 325 would be a great buy.......just the 1.8T motor has got some madd potential
The question is what your mom would like.....not us

I'd probably go the 325i. Although I haven't driven the wagon styles of each, I prefer the 325i sedan over the A4 1.8T. The BMW wagon looks sportier to me as well. But that's just me. Like max_boost says, you can't go wrong with either one.

high horsepower WAGON
The Volvo V70 starts at 38 grand.
Or how bout the H6 outback?
