I haven't taken 205 but I took Geog 381 with Herrem and he was a good professor. No surprises at all on the exam and an extremely fair marker. I got an A in the course with very little effort.
    Highly recommend it!

    STAY AWAY!!!

Believe me i took it last year with him and it was horrific. Not only are his lectures a waste of time, but even if you read the book you will be screwed since the questions he asks are based on none of the material he gives you. He doesn't seem like a bad prof, but last year was the first time they introduced the couse (205) and he even told the class that he has no idea what he is doing.

I could see him being ok teaching another class, or maybe he rethough his teaching method for 205, but i honestly wouldn't risk it if i were you.

i took it with him the first semester it was ever offered.
I thought he was a great prof. He knew his stuff and he had a real passion for it.
The class was easy anyways, i got an A half assing it.
I don't know what your talking about because the exams were straight out of his PP lectures!

Are you sure you are talking about the same prof and class? Hahaha his PP was made up of mainly pictures, and he even told everybody not to rely on the pp for any of the tests.

When I took 381 with him, it was a once a week class on Monday nights so similar to a weekend class. The tests were mainly taken from his powerpoint slides and the text book as support. Our class average was pretty high on both exams (somewhere in the high 70's I believe), all short answer and we had one essay to write.

I took Australia and Antarctica with him, and I hated every minute of it. Granted he wasn't the only prof in the class. There were 3 sections taught by 3 different profs which sucked ass. All the exams followed this format.

    <Question>

    I.
    II.
    III.
    IV.
    V.
    VI.

    a) I, II, IV are correct
    b) IV, V, VI are correct, I is incorrect.
    .... and so on.

I took 365 with Herrem and I thought he was great. The exams we got were short answers and done up in point form. Not a hard marker at all. The 200 level geography classes should all really be a breeze to get an A in.
