    Default how to power a computer?

    well Im looking for a little help in my new hobbie...

    I have the computer all set up and ready to test it in the car and then later final install.

    The thing im not good at is power what and how do I get power from the car to the computer?

    Computer Specs:

    AMD durron 500 Mhz
    Soundblaster 5.1 PCI sound
    20 GIG WD HDD
    5.6" LCD with touch screen
    Serial Remote interface
    Keypad
    TouchPad
    Wireless mini keyboard

    Car Stereo:

    Cheap ass pyle 45 Watt Deck
    2 6 1/2 speakers
    2 2 1/2 Speakers

    I wanted to run the computer sound threw the deck as it has AUX in and have tested this to see if it works nice sound from my Mp3s

    So now how so I power from car? inverter? some other power sorice? Any help would be great!

    you could probibly use a 12v cigarette lighter adapter to run it. like 50 beans at futureshop

    go get a good, quality underhood 12volt inverter, if you want this to be permanent.
    around a 300 watt unit should be overkill, but you dont want to fuxor your leet c4rpu73r with power spikes.

    no . do not use a AC invertor . that's silly . you can't use a +12 source from the cigerette lighter or any +12 supplied by your vehicle . the reason for this is a pc requires seperate grounds for the +12 and +5 . you'll need a decent voltage regulator strong enough to power the hard drive draw ..

    what i suggest is purchasing one . u can get one from a company who is advertised on www.mp3car.com .. or u can browse ebay for anyone selling one ..

    lol im already posting banshe on mp3car.com I now about opus and other PSUs for PC car use, just wanted to see if there is another way around it....
