Apparently it is open. I phoned, and the track is dry and they are going to run it.

The Auto-cross is closed as they have oval practice tonight.

1/4 mile is good to go.

I figured it'd be closed. I have 3/4 tank of pump fuel in the Z. I just got the car working OK as it has been parked for almost a month.

I'm going to head down, run a few passes on low boost and get a nice baseline for the year.

haha i was waiting for you to post a thread or weather update. i can see a some blue sky up north here, so i hope it stays open and the staging lanes are short.

The weather says "Cloudy" but doesn't say it is going to rain until "Tonight", as in, not in the evening.

There has been like zero precipitation in this area all day. And it was very windy this morning. Probably helped dry the track off a bit.

I'm just gonna go for some shake-down runs before I get serious about running some fast times. [In the Z tonight! Woot!] All I am hoping is to run faster than my SRT-4. God, how embarassing would that be to not run quicker than a "Neon".

I may take a run up.... might get in a pass or two.

Fuck I need practice.... I'm not used to running on crappy street tires anymore.... it's so muc easier on slicks when you can just peg it and go.

I agree.

I'm on radial tires tonight. I don't mind. I'm going with full fuel. (Well 3/4) Full weight. Street tires. Low boost.

It will be interesting to see what the Z runs in this scenario. Then hopefully my Mickey Thompson Bias Ply ET Streets will arrive next week, and I can see how the Z does on a half-ass drag tire. 1/4 Tank. Seat out. High boost.

Will be fun tonight anyhow. Looking forward to it.

well..... beauty tail wind up there tonight. Conditions were pretty good.

Best I could squeeze out of her though was a measly 14.2 and a 104 mph and my best light was a .015 and my best 60' was a crappy 2.3 something.

Think I'll wait until I get the slicks on to go again.

My night sucked.

I thought I had the kinks ironed out of the Z, and it ran poorly. I had to let up on every pass. It was embarassing actually. Did run a 12 second pass, with a very low MPH as I was braking across the line. But still, overall, it was pathetic and I obviously have problems.

The "Neon" would have smoked the Z tonight. No problem.

That was a fun run actually. That's what I was talking about in the pits, it's way more intense when the car you are racing is right next to you when you cross the line or as you approach it. So many of the cars we race aren't evenly matched, so you're either way ahead, or way behind - and the sensation just isn't the same as where you are side by side.

I don't know the answer to that question. That's why I wanted to switch so I could find out. I suspect there is a 0.1 to 0.2 difference in the 60 foot.

If I get my tires this week, and if I can get them on my wheels, and if I can get the Z running properly, I might take it to the track and find out. However, honestly, I think I am done with the Z. I'm really enjoying the SRT-4 and would rather beat it to death next.

I so wish I could have gone in the SRT-4. But I just have to put some clicks on the new clutch. And, well, the 11 clicks I put on it driving it home from the dealership just isn't going to cut it.

Best DA Conditions so far this year. *AND* A Bonus tail wind. I think I could have run very low 12's. Like 12.1 or 12.2. Missed opportunity for a new personal best - that's for sure.

nice dense air the old girl ran 16.586 at 83 so new pb and i kept missing 3rd or screwing up. I could have had a 16.2

not bad for a stock zc sohc with intake and exhaust and a half tank of crap gas.
