applying 3m wax/detail before ok?

I'm looking to apply some 3m on some body kit pieces on my car it got painted about 4 weeks ago so its good to go.

Now I was wondering is it ok to was polish adn shine it up before the 3m goes over or will that give it ahesion problems or other problems at all?

I just thinking i'd try to get it nice to match my car before i apply it.

otherwise i'll just give it a good wash.

It really depends what you use. Some waxes might be fine, some might not.. you can never be sure.

Best idea would be to wash it and claybar it very well before you apply.
