I have a 2.7l from my 86 325es. It is in a few pieces but would be a great starter for a sweet big bore project. Even better if you have a i head.
looking for 500 obo for whatever I have.
Michael
1986 325es
93 M50 motor swap
95 M3 cams
ERT/RMS used Stage 1 supercharger system for sale. ( V1 blower )

I GOT A CYLINDER HEAD FOR A 2.7L $150
hmmmm i have found a 94 525i motor, m50 im not sure what the numbers are on it but 1300us shipped from the states, is that a good deal?
Don't forget to factor in shipping costs (prob +$500 depending on where you're shipping it from) and border duties (think is about 14%)
Ive got a 2.7L from a 325e. I took it out of my parts car about a month ago. It ran great when I took it out and has about 250k on it. Most things are still attached to it even the tranny. You can have it, excluding the tranny, for $400. If your interested i even have a brand new timing belt, timing belt tensioner, and waterpump.
would you be interested in a 2002 bmw 323ci engine? its currently supercharged but can make a seperate deal if wanted
Dillon that is not a very good deal. A little on the high side if you ask me. What is good about it is that its from a 5 series which means that won't need to switch out the oil pan if you were to find an m50 from an e36. However its still overpriced; see if you can work him down a bit.Originally posted by d.maczko

I've seen m50 motors from e36's go for 500US and that is sort of an average price. Keep looking. M50's are a good option because they have 4 valves per cylinder and run a timing chain, not belt.
And don't go for the 2.7...bad investment to get the economy motor. If your going to stick with m20's go with the 'i' engine; the m20b25 and if you want more power turbocharge it.
Good luck man.
Mike
To run proper management for the OBD2 on his E30, he would probably have to go with a standalone engine management.Originally posted by euro_racer

Not the most cost effective option I think.
Mike
euro_racer im sure that you want like 6k for that motor and tranny setup but im just looking for an m50 now, and yes from a 5 series but i could care less if its out of a 3. I emailed affordable-autoparts about getting a motor from them but they havent contacted me yet, I think i will call them today. Plus they are only 3 hours away. I hope to find a nice m50 to drop in with in a month.
yeah the m50 from the states would, excuse my french but 'rape' me by the time it got over the border and what not. heh cant really get it shipped as a gift either.
my search continues for the m50 motor.
heres a link to affordable if you didnt know about em

also Kinger, I have the m20b27 in my e30 right now and its brutal for power, thanks for the offer but i wont be needing it.
i just want to get the e30 back on the road again, so i can meet some of ya's
cheers,
Dill
If it matters to you, if you do plan on bringing one out of the states. Do the customs paperwork yourself. My buddy was going to be charged around $150+ for his Hood coming through customs, but in his luck they overlooked it and made him do his own paperwork. Ended up costing him like tops $40, 8 for hte acvtual customs fees, DIRT cheap.
hehe i think a motor and tranny will cost a lil more though
naw i was looking at around 3000 for teh engine and tranny no blower tho, let me know if your interested
wow for real?
eeeee damn obd 0
ill have to look around and talk to some ppl, but hold onto that motor and tranny
don't suppose you'd want to part with the shell?
I got an S14 motor out of my 88 M3 with 170K. Not running and needs a rebuild which isn't cheap. PM me if you're interested.
hehe nah ill probably pick up an m50, thats all that im looking for. thanks though
is your m3 still running?
Thats much less than a bolt on affair; unless your willing to do some work, this is probably not the best option to go.Originally posted by d.maczko

M50's are cheap, reliable, parts cheap and are easily had. I've been told that you won't see a significant power increase however and you'll crave power later down the road...
So S50 right away?!
Mike
i need to know for sure if you are interested so i can hold it for sure, since i got alot of interest in itOriginally posted by d.maczko
